HAPPY 4th!!!

Today is yet another good day! I really like being able to type entries like this. She let up a little over night on the pee, but she has picked right back up this morning. In the last hour she has peed 37 cc's...WOW, didn't even know she was capable of that...GO GABBERS!! She is awake a bit more and moving around a lot. It is great to see her being more herself, but it is still to early for that. She has developed a tolerance to her sedation and pain medicine, so she's requiring more meds to help with the sedation and medication. Also today she will start a narcotic that will help with withdraw symptoms. Poor baby has become a bit of a junkie, I am just glad she can't feel the pain. So this is the only time I am ok with her dependency.

Oh my goodness, I have to tell you just how great Nurse Debbie is. Gabi has a red blanket and a blanket with stars and stripes...not to mention the cutest little piggies with red scrunches and blue heart barretts...SUPER FESTIVE and SUPER CUTE!!!

I hope all has a great day, HAPPY 4th...be safe!!!

Great news again this morning. I've been watching the blog closely, but haven't been able to comment for a while. While our friends from Texas were here, Larry passed away! Very sudden, but very quick. I should be so lucky. We will be leaving for Ft. Worth and then I will be going on to Little Rock to our son's and Phil will be batching for three weeks, but we won't forget to be checkin' on you kids! Dorothy

I hope your 4th is going well. It is so good to read the progress Gabi continues to take. She is such a strong girl. There are so many special nurses that work there. Nate, Kaden and I still visit the NICU nurses there at the hospital at each doc. visit. I don't think they realize how easy a lot of them make it on us parents. I am happy to hear that Gabi as well of the two of you have been fortunate enough to get such caring people to take care of that special little girl. I hope you guys enjoy your picnic and have a safe 4th. Nate and Amy

Happy 4th of July Gabi! Micah and Jay...one would think that spending a holiday like this in the hospital would be about the worst thing ever. In my opinion this will forever be the holiday we link to Gabi being a fighter, and one of the toughest people we have ever know. From now on the 4th wont just be the day we light off sparklers and firecrackers but will be one of the days we look back on years from now and talk about how Gabi made July 4th 2007 more special than most other independence day celebrations in many, many hearts. Hope the picnic goes well today! Im sure Gabi looks super cute with her stars and stripes blankie. Love you all. Mike
