Always CHAOS...

The girls were watching the tube...how cute are they!?!

Gracie's last day of school was last Friday, she is now with us for the summer. It is very exciting considering our weekends go so fast. Now we can actually spend some quality time with the kid! One thing is for sure though, I have my hands full. I wouldn't trade it for the world, but a little more time in the day would be nice.

Yesterday Gabi had an appointment with the genetic counselor. Basically just looked her over, said she looked great and told me all the what could be's in the future. I guess it's good to know that kind of stuff, but why give me anymore worry than I already have? Lately I have struggled with the overwhelming emotions I am experiencing. I try so hard to be strong and get through each day with a smile, but that has become more and more difficult lately. I want to create a loving, safe, caring environment to raise the kids, but I am scared to death. I mean, I love my life and wouldn't change a thing, but sometimes I wonder how I am going to handle surgery, or the things people will say about my baby because she is "different." I put this in God's hands I know he gave us this angel because he knew we could handle it, but it is a very trying time for myself and Jason. It has definitely brought us to closer to each other, our family, and most importantly our church. Life is not what I expected for myself it is even better than I could have imagined. And even though I have felt overwhelmed lately I know I will gain my strength back and be better than ever!

Gracie and Zach fishing at Mema and Papa's with Uncle Freddie. Gracie caught 1, Zach caught 2, and well let's just say Uncle Freddie was there for moral support!

On a lighter note: Gabi is now 10 lbs. I never thought we'd see the day of double digits!! Gabi is holding her head a lot more. Everyday we see more and more personality out of her. She has rings and rattles she likes to play with and has been doing really good moving them from hand to hand. Baby girl is right on track! Oh she got her first swimsuit...CHECK HER OUT!!!

SCHEDULED FOR SURGERY...

So today we finally got a bit of good news. We are scheduled to have Gabi's heart surgery on June 26th early am. This gave us a bit of relief, but now we have a whole new bag of worries and fears. We just can't thank everyone enough though for the many many thoughts and prayers for our angel! She is a little fighter and she will do just fine. But it definitely puts us a little more at ease knowing she is receiving so many prayers. Please continue for our journey hasn't even truly begun!

As far as what she is doing these days...Gabi smiles all the time, especially at Mommy and Daddy! She has discovered her right hand, stares at it all the time, she opens and closes it too. She is reaching out, she grabbed Daddy's nose last week, she pulls my hair all the time. She is developing very well!! Talking nonstop to herself...I love it!!! Oh, I almost forgot she is now 21 inches long... what a big girl!

I know I haven't kept up with this as much as I'd like but I take tons of pics. ENJOY!!! She is growing up so fast....

HAPPY MOMMY'S DAY!!!

What a great day! I woke up and Jason and Gracie were hard at work writing me the sweetest poem/letter. They put so much thought into it, it was so special. Jason went out of his way this year and my gift was a trip to Miami. We are going the end of July...what a way to celebrate, not to mention we will be there for his 30th b-day. The trip was actually inspired by one of my best friends Erica she is turning 30 as well the same weekend as Jason...so we will all be celebrating together!

Then we all got cleaned up went to church and was with the Acker fam. Gracie's mom then picked her up and Jason, Gabi, and I headed to my mommy's. It was a very relaxing day, as well as very big for Miss Gabi.

Not only did she celebrate mother's day with me, she got a hair cut and MiMi polished her toes. She tried really hard to paint her toenails, but mostly painted her toes...it's really funny!
Oh, I almost forgot we ended the day with my favorite meal...Daddy went and got sushi and served me...it was the perfect way to end the day!

Happy Graduation Sissy!!!

Such a cutie pie at bathtime!!!

Watch out Paris Hilton,
there's a new babe in town!

Always trying to help mommy!

This may not make a lot of sence in some areas I started this entry last week but never finished so if you get confused it is my fault... work with me people!

I am finally getting around to updating! I have been very preoccupied to say the least. Gabi had a weight check, 9lbs.9oz. Not as much as we hoped for, but we will take any gain. Although I am a little concerned she hasn't eaten well all week. I spoke to Dr. Parthiban about it and she wants to see Gabi on Friday, we don't want to take any chances. When we met Friday on Friday she decided to cut back on some of her meds. and give her meds. for acid reflex. After we visited with her of course she started eating again.

So Sissy's graduation was today...May 9th! I cannot believe she is graduating kindergarten, seems like the school year just started. They had a program to give recognition to the kids. The kids got to dress up like what they want to be when they grow up. Then at the program they say their name and what they want to be and why. Gracie was a Doctor, but not just any doctor a baby doctor. She said "I want to be a baby doctor so I can help sick babies and babies with down syndrome"... talk about melting you heart it was so sweet! Congrats to our graduate, we are so proud of you!!!

Gracie's first pic with her brother and sister!
It's hard getting everyone to look at the camera with so much going on around them.

Way to Long...

So it is official I am a terrible mother, I have not had a chance to update in about 2 weeks. Here is what I claim as my excuse. Our laptop is broken, apparently my fault or something and well Jason has been really busy with work, so he is always on the desktop. By the time he is finished for the day we choose to relax together and I don't want to go in on the computer. Things have been going very well though so I didn't feel the need...lazy huh!?!
But this entry ought to be filled with fun details.
Where do I begin how about with Miss Gabi. Last Wednesday she weighed in at 9lbs. 2oz. She had an echo cardiogram done and Dr. Parthiban is presenting her case to the surgeons a week from Friday. At that point they will decide her surgery date. I am really anticipating these next 2 weeks, but knowing we will have a date definitely makes the wait worth while. She has been vomiting alot, so I do tons and tons of laundry. Dr. Kelley says it's normal, but I don't necessarily agree...I am not the doctor though.

She has been smiling a ton haven't got a good one in a pic yet. And she talks a ton in fact as I type she is having a conversation. It is so cute, she sits in her swing, looks at herself in the mirror and carries on a lengthy conversation. The newest thing though, she twirls her hair and pulls it too. One time she was pulling and started to cry, I don't think she realized she was causing the pain. We are working on rolling over. A few times she has gotten close, but she can't quite figure out how to use her arms. But it is something we practice daily. She is getting stronger though, sometimes she holds her head up, but not for a long period of time...still working hard at it!

As for Gracie, she is getting excited school is almost out for the summer. Her last day is May 18th, just around the corner. She is staying very busy. Last Saturday at her soccer day she did awesome. Her and Daddy had a talk and she promised to know where the ball is at all times and to try harder to get to the ball. She almost scored twice, you could tell she was having so much fun. She said she would play like that more often. Last Friday she had a carnival at her school. So we went to that, her and her brother, Chance, had so much fun, lots of games and activities. Gabi had an ok time, she got sick and threw up in the library, a little embarrassing, but I am sure that library has seen worse.

Gracie got to keep Izzy with her this week at her mom's house. She was so excited. I think Morgan was a little hesitant at first, but she is growing to love the puppy too! Gracie took her on a walk last night and she was gone 40 minutes, any excuse to hang with Izzy Buggles.

Tonight is a big night for Gracie, she is graduating kindergarten. They are having a program and they are even dressing up to show what they want to be when they grow up. Gracie is dressing up as a doctor, she wants to be a baby doctor that helps sick babies and babies with down syndrome...isn't that sweet! She is such an amazing little girl with such a big heart, if only they were all like her!

As for myself and Jason, same old same old. He is running the business, which is finally starting to take off. And me well I planted flowers yesterday, that was nice. Oh yeah, we did go to the Indy Race @ the Kansas Speedway on Sunday. It was a lot of fun, we enjoy going about once a year.
