Bath Time with Sissy...

This past weekend was exciting for the girls, well atleast for Gracie. She wanted to take a bath with sissy, so with a little assistance from mommy she got what she wanted. Of course I had the camera handy to capture this momentus occasion! Gabi really likes the big tub as opposed to her little tub we have for the sink. I think she likes it better because she is submerged in the water...keeps her warmer!
Monday we had another weight check...8lbs 13oz. Not as much of a gain this week, but Dr. Kelley said we will have weeks like this, so don't be discouraged.
Today Daddy and I layed out for a bit...Daddy is as red as a lobster...kind of funny. Gabi was out with me for a while, but I didn't have her out long enough to catch any rays, but that's a good thing. After being outside I brought her in and we were playing...well I was playing with her and she gave me the biggest smile she has ever had. It melted my heart I was so excited. Then later tonight Daddy was playing with her and he got some great smiles as well. Our little angel just keeps progressing everyday...we love it!!!

3 months old...

Miss Gabi is getting so chunky! I would love to say she is getting big, but she is still a small little girl. She is so alert and starting to follow with her eyes. Yesterday she came really close to rolling over. If only she could of figured out how to move her shoulder, her legs were going crazy. It's the little things that bring Daddy and I so much joy!

And finally today...

Gabi and I started off early this morning. We had to get into the lab early to have some blood drawn because of the new medication she's on. It can mess with her potassium levels, among other things. Baby girl had a horrible day. We had to go to 3 different labs. First, Lawrence Hospital, they couldn't find a vein, but poked around a few times. Then off to LabOne in Overland Park, they couldn't find a vein, but poked around as well. And finally we went to Childrens Mercy, they found a veinand finally got what we needed. The worst part about it all is she was stuck 7 times. I have never heard her cry so much! It nearly broke my heart, but I had to stay strong didn't want to wreck the car because I was crying. Needless to say if we have to do anymore lab work we will definitely be going to Childrens Mercy!

There was some good out of the day though...she had another weight check. Gabi is 8lbs.11oz., we are so excited it,s incredible. Dr. Kelley was very pleased with that. We will see him again next week. Today was such a long day, but Gabi does have any other appointments this week, so we will take advantage of that and rest.

EASTER...

Happy (belated) Easter!!!
The girls were dolls as usual and who can resist their cousin Zach!?! Gracie had a total of 5 easter egg hunts, I am tellin ya she does not miss out!! Gabi can't wait until next year so she can do the egg hunts too! We went to Mimi and Pipi's on Saturday, then Sunday to church and hung with the Acker fam. It is always a good time hangin with the fam! I hope everyone had a great day!

Libby Lu

Faithie wanted to get Gabi
in on the action too!!

Gracie had another birthday party this weekend. That girl has more parties and celebrations than anyone I know. If you or anyone you know has a little girl, I think this is the best idea for a party. Libby Lu is a store at the mall and they get to be divas for the day. The big theme right now is Hannah Montana, so they all dressed up and got long blonde wigs, had their make-up done, polish their nail, and make a bag of fairy dust (glitter). Then after dress up they learn a little song and dance and perform in front of the store for all to watch...it is so so cute! Here are the pics... as you can tell Gracie and her friends are quite the performers!

It's been a while...

Our other babies are doing well too! Can't leave these girls out. Sadi is posing pretty and Izzy had her first bath..that was cute, she did good. She also discovered Gabi's baby boppy and loves it...comfy spot she fell asleep right away!

I have not done so good this last week on updates. Last weekend we went to a Family Enrichment program for parents with children who have disabilities. It was great to visit with other parents. Gracie had a ton of fun, she didn't want to leave. They had lots of activities for the kids. Gabi was pretty content with everyone who wanted to hold her. She was the youngest child there and she stole the show...she is such a pretty baby!
My baby girl is definitely keeping me busy! We went to visit Dr. Parthiban, the cardiologist, yesterday. Gabi weighed in at 8lbs. 4oz. She is really filling out. The visit was good, but Dr. Parthiban heard an extra noise on her heart. So she was prescribed another medication. The noise can be related to early signs of heart failure, so we are getting closer...nothing to worry about though. The medication will contiune to help control her heartbeat and the blood flow. Our next appointment isn't until April 25th, but it is a big one. She will have an echocardiogram done and then Dr. Parthiban will present her case to the team of surgeons and then they will decide a date for surgery. That will be very exciting, but I think at that point the fear of the surgery will set in. I know this is what Gabi needs, but the thought of them opening up my baby is scarey. I know I am probably repeating myself from previous entries, but the fear will not go away until she is in recovery...it will probably not even be then how about once she is home in my arms again!

Gabi will be 12 weeks on friday...almost 3 months old, I cannot believe it! She is such a sweet baby. She still hardly ever cries. And when she does Daddy always thinks it's because she has to poop...most of the time she is just hungry! She loves to snuggle, which how can we resist that??? And even more importantly she is very alert. She is awake most of the day. she would sleep through the night if we let her, but we are still on a very strict feeding schedule...every 3 hours. She follows our faces when we talk, she makes eye contact, and she smiles alot...sometimes it's gas, but it still looks like a smile so it counts! She is doing so well, thank you to everyone for always remembering our sweet angel in your thoughts and prayers...we will forever be greatful!!!

We had a big first 2 nights ago...the first time Gabi wore one of her NIKE outfits...this is huge for Daddy, he is a nike freak! You can't see it but this is it...I swear it has a swish on the left and as you can see Daddy is sporting his too!
