1 week later...

I figured most of you would appreciate more pics of our little sweet pea! This last week has been extremely exhausting. We are still working on the night and day thing, I have a feeling it is gonna be a hard one to change...anyone have any fabulous things that worked for them? Also she eats nonstop. If she continues to go at it the way she does, I am afraid my body will not be able to handle it. Sometimes she will eat for 2 hours at a time, talk about sore...wow, I can't even begin to describe that feeling. Anyways we go to the pediatrician tomorrow for her newborn checkup. Hopefully the doc will give me some great ideas on the feeding and the sleeping. Other than that she is just as cute as can be and we love every second of her.

Oh I almost forgot...aftern Jason got off work last night he went and scooped up Gracie, she is staying with us for the summer. We flip with her mommy during the summer time. We are soooooo excited to have her with us. And this is the perfect opportunity for her and Kins to create that special bond:)

As you can see in the pictures below, she is quite the little Anne Geddes baby, always curled up in a little ball. Or then there is the total opposite when she is completely sprawled out...either way she is just the cutest little love bug...ENJOY!!!

Oh my gosh Micah!!! She's so stinking cute! I don't suppose you'd let me practice some photos on her? I love practicing on babies. Let me know, the smaller she is the better! Love you guys!

We have a 3 year old son, 1 1/2 year old daughter and are expecting again. We found that using a size up for diapers helped them feel drier and therefore sleep a little longer! Good luck! She's darling!

Oh Micah, Jason and Gracie, what a beautiful baby. She's so precious! I pray to God a prayer of thanks for this gift to you. After all that you've been through, this is a most joyous gift. I'm so very happy for you and what a great family Kinsley decided to join :o)

simply precious!

Best wishes and well the 2 hour thing? She's just a growing lil thing! She looks like she'd be easy to wear in a recliner to help sleep at night. I had one child that wouldn't sleep unless swaddled TIGHT. I mean i tried it once and zonk! She was used to tight quarters!

One of my kids nursed for 3 out of 4 hours on a plane...it can happen!! :)

Best wishes! Kitty and crew!

Okay, don't ask me about getting those days and nights going the right way. Bella is 17 months old and we still don't have it right!!! I will call you soon because I was thinking about seeing if I could just stop by and see you and Kins next Wednesday when I am in town. Our appointment is not until 1:30, so if we leave here at 8:00 we could stop and visit for a little over an hour before I have to head to the hospital. Plus I have to get that girl's baby gifts to her!!
Love Ya

Oh my gosh...she is soooo cute!!! I love the pictures where she is curled up. I can't get over how cute she is...especially in pink. Our girls and pink...what is it??? Well, good luck with the sleeping thing...and eating thing. If you haven't already tried, I would take nathanael's mom's advice...swaddle her tight. She is so use to being in your cute little belly, it might help. Thinking about you guys.

Love,
Amy

I found you from Nate and Amy's blog- She is precious! I have 4 boys!! Love the pink! I have a friend whose baby was a difficult eater- never full or just plain unsatisfied- she was tongue tied. (The skin under the tongue is connected too far out, making it hard for them to latch on- could explain soreness.) If you are going to the ped, have them or a breastfeeding consultant check to make sure she isn't tongue tied. It's actually more common than you think and is easy to fix. Good luck- enjoy your extra summer help. Monica- KS

Gracie you look so beautiful and happy next to Sissy. I'm happy you get to spend this quality time with her and you get to help out Micah and Daddy. They need your help so make sure you are a good girl for them. Kins is so cute... she definately got her daddy's limbs. Her legs and arms look so long. Sorry Gracie, you got stuck with my short limbs instead of your dad's. HAHAHA. I love you baby girl. Talk to you soon.

What a beautiful family! I am an old friend of your Mom. We met on a vacation way back around 1972! We have been "pen pals" ever since and catch up with each other at Christmas. That is when I heard of your loss. My heart went out to all of you! Since than I have been following your story and love reading your blog. Your words of wisdom have been in my thoughts many times while raising our two teenage daughters! Thanks you for sharing all our honesty. I wish you all tons of happiness!

Congratulations, she is a beautiful gift from God. I remember those first few weeks. My Maddison seemed to be similar with Kinsley's nursing patterns. My lactation consultant said not to feed for more than 30 minutes because she be putting more energy out than she is taking in. (I however wasn't producing enough and after a few weeks had to stop cos they weren't getting enough) About the sleeping patterns, I tried to rouse them as much as possible during the day with lots of noise and commotion. I am a firm believer in routines and schedules. I know it's harder to maintain a schedule when you are breast feeding but you can make a bed time routine. My girls were on a bed time routine at 3 weeks old and slept through the night at 5 weeks (but every baby is different, you know) I did bath, bottle, swaddle, bed every night around the same time. Do you or have you seen Happiest Baby on The Block? If not it is a MUST MUST have. Swaddling, turning on her side and sligthly jiggle as to mimick the movement during utero. There are the five s's. I can't remember them all right now. But I highly recommend watching the video. Swaddling helped them sleep longer during the night. We swaddled them every night until they were about 6 months old. Good luck. New life is so precious! Sending you guys lots of love and prayers for sleep and rest.
HUGS!
April
